Have seen this one in bullion and haven't been able to find much posted to compare to. Does it stand a chance?

I don't like it. Sloppy embroidery. Finding a comparison for something this rare could be tough.

I've never seen an Ost tab before, which unit would have worn this one?

The photo of the back looks like the wool is "ribbed". This doesn't look right. Also, the embroidery is too loose and sloppy IMO.

I wouldn't want it either, materials, embroidery, etc

I would have expected this tab to be embroidered on badge cloth (felt)
