SS FM armbands

HI guys,

last week I was offered a SS FM armband, I'm aware what the FM is, and
was told early in my collecting years that 99% of these are fake. This piece
looked good to me in all aspects except for the fact that I've never seen one
on any bonafide dealers site or any period photos. Were these real, or are they
fantasy pieces.
