Come on guys, give the guy a break.I have visted the place several times and when I walked there all over the place, even on the hill itself .I saw a lot of stones (no rings by the way ).And yes I took some with me.Are the stones original of the castle,I don't know. The castle has been destroyed a couple of times in history. So maybe I have a stone from the build in the middel ages or one from the restauration by Himmler or even by the re- building after the war.Or maybe some rubble that someone threw away.....................................

If he want to sell some its up to the potential buyer.

    just my 2 cents

Guys, thanks for your kind words.

The pieces that i picked up were from the dumpster that was directly located below the castle as shown in the photos. They were building materials and were destined to be destroyed. The castle is now undergoing renovations and many of the original building material has thus been hauled up.

Ive also seen bricks from Eagle's Lair or pieces from the Zepplinfield being sold by members on the e-stand. Dont know the fuss about this.

The two pieces are still available. They are nice pieces and 100% from the site. I have smaller fragments if anyone is interested in them. PM me.

              Thanks,
              Mil

                rubble

                to put it bluntly..
                PURE GREED...
perhaps acceptable to take 1 small piece
                for your own collection

if you were not out to make money
                AS YOU STATE..
why take so many pieces ,
and as soon as you return
                start hawking them about..
                for a ridiculous price...

just my 2 cents of course

Frazer relax man. Its not pure greed. The pieces were about to be trashed. They would have eventually been sent to the dump. Many people would love to have a souvenir like that (without damaging anything). But most of us cannot afford a plane ticket just to see the castle. Military is in his own right to do what he wants with those pieces. Its not like he tore out the SS runes and tried to sell them for $$$$. Its December and we all know the economic burden that this month places on all of us. I personally find it offensive that this man has been judged by you in such a demeaning manner. Not all of us have the same economic solvency. You do not know his personal situation so to call him greedy is just as bad as calling him a grave robber. I believe an apology is in order. Raul

Fraser let me be clear. I am not attacking you in any way nor I want this to turn into one of those closed threads that look like a free for all or like a bar room brawl. I just want to make an observation. I noticed how you collect relics (aka ground dug) from battlefields. Those pieces most likely came from under ground and we all know that 95% of the time the word relic equals graves. If you buy these pieces then the GREEDY GRAVE ROBBERS will want to make more $$$$ and in turn "find" more "ground dug" relics. My friend, I'm just saying that we should all be a little more understanding with each other. It just makes life a little easier and a little less stressful. No harm was meant and no harm was done. Cheers, Raul

I for one agree with both of Raul's posts. One man's candy is another man's poison. As I posted before...no harm no foul!!
                        I guess that's my 3 cents....

Mil I would be the first one to buy one of these cool pieces (and your sports bell) if I had paypal!

You had every right to take those pieces!

Guys, thanks for the kind comments.
Again as I repeat, they were from the dumpster directly beneath the castle which at this time was undergoing renovations. The pieces were most likely destined to be destroyed or crushed.
In all i took only 5-6 pieces.

As for Fraser (fritztk), I've sent him a PM to state my views, but it seems he prefers to stick to his opinions.
I believe I've also seen bricks from the Wolf's Lair and from the Zepplinfield on the e-stand not too long ago and they were all sold.

                              rubble

                              firstly
this thread is not about battlefield relics..
                              and even if it was...
i buy items that come from good diggers not grave robbers..
so raymond ..i fail to understand youe equation that 95%
of ground dug items = graves..
and things i buy are military steel, leather alu items
not pieces of cement or stone..
                              thats the difference my friend..

and i wont be apologising to military..
                              money is his king..
                              cheers
