Wouldn't you love to have that on your front porch light. Yes I agree SS runes on the one side and LAH on the other.

This is a well documented light fixture. The artist engineered many other third reich designs including the large stone ss man statues flanking the LAH barracks entrance, and I believe may have designed a dagger, but I will have to dig up my references to verify. When I do I shall post some pics.

The large ss mann statues are visible in that SS video on youtube when the column is marching outside the gates of the barracks, here:

LSSAH Officer's mess hall lantern by Haas

I'd say you have a rather rare photo there! Anyone else have any like it?

Here are some more pics of what appears to be another entrance to the officer's mess or perhaps the barracks. The fixtures were designed by TR artist Hanns Haas. Haas also designed the eternal guards ("Die Ewige Wache") flanking the main entrance to the LSSAH barracks in Berlin (suburb of Lichterfeld). The guards were carved from solid granite mined in the Zichtel mountains. The SS occupied the new barracks in 1933. Haas designed the eagle aqbove the barracks out of wrought iron as well as the lanterns, incorpoating the LAH logo and the SS Runes. At least 3 of these lanterns were created - 2 for the barracks main entrance and 1 for the front porch ceiling of the officer's mess (Fuhrerkasino). The eagle and lanterns were completed by 1935. Haas also designed "national eagles, presentation swords, jewelry, lights and common utensils. One known example of a presentation sword is the Sepp Dietrich SS Honor Sword" owned by LTC Tom Johnson.
