Again I'm not a pharmaceutical expert but a few years ago I would have stuck many a morphine amp up my arm :-)

I believe William S. Burroughs (an expert on archaic opiates amonst other things) wrote about nazi opiates and described one called "Eukodal" that was stamped on the glass ampules --if memory serves. I read this book nigh on 30 years ago.

A good read if you dont get offended easily(or sickened easily), called "The Western Lands."
has a short story about junkie nazi officer(cant remember if he was SS) who commanders all pharmacies in his area of command and shoots up the opiates , while yelling Sieg Heil at the moment of the first rush..........
