Well....my guess is that the faker is giving the other three some thought...IE what sort of clothing, or personal item he can add them too to make the items more desirable...the lab coat was a great idea, but I guess that one will have to be sold to a person who does not read the forums, and yes there are many who do not.

Kudos to the taker of the pix as that was the coup de grace...

So these tags were purchased by you from a member here, then sold by you to someone at the MAX, and then ended up added to a fake jacket on a dealers website who is in Chicago.

Care to spill the beans as to whom bought them from you? You are in the Chicago area as well, right?

Well besides lab coats the remaining tags could end up on a set of armed forces striped hospital PJ's.... to make these more desirable...
Truppen Ubungslager Dachau had a hospital (lazarett) and these issued pajamas to the wounded.

The "suspect" lab coat was removed from the web site it appears, so I'm reposting it here
for "educational purposes"... For those that missed seeing this "opportunity" to buy ......

We're on the lookout for the tag at Manion's. If something shows up with one, I'll post pics.

I was approached about 2 minutes after I purchased the tags. The new buyer must have observed me buying them, like he missed out. I made $150 on the transaction and did not know the person or if he was a forum member. I am also responsible for bringing the coat back from Germany 2 months later. It was purchased in Kassel. I was intrigued by the tag again and thought it was perfectly normal to find such an item in Germany. I wanted to believe in it. Also, I have not verified that the tag in the coat is one of the 4. I am assuming this is correct.

The lab coat was yours as well? So who stitched the SS tag in it?

Wow, this is an enlightening thread......

However, I am a bit confused, let me see if I have this right:

Peter admits to having bought the strip of tags. He admits to having bought the coat. The coat turns up - with what some members here are saying is one of the tags from that very strip - on his friend's (Oakleaf) site which Peter defends as being original? Is that right, or do I have the facts wrong?

Peter- Did the coat have a tag on it when you bought it? What happened to the coat? Who did you sell it to? Maybe Oakleaf can tell us who consigned the coat with him.

There was 2 months for this occur if it did, and it is impossible to say if the person who bought the tags from me did it or someone he sold it to did. Again, I assuming that the coat in question had one of the 4 tags applied. The coat I purchased at Kassel looked totally convincing in every way. I had no reason to doubt it. It is a perfect piece.

At this point, all we need in this thread are peasants with torches and Castle Frankenstein in the background.

Is that because a mad collector is sewing-up a master uniform from pieces of other ragged-out ones while wearing this coat.

Is the coat that started this thread the same coat that you purchased at the Kassel show?

Yes, there is only one to my knowledge. Do you know of others?
