This cap was already discussed here, maybe BenVK remember it, I am quite sure he has an original with zig/zag missing insignia like this.
I'd like to know the reasons you don't like it and what is wrong here, in my opinion has good chances but I have not in hands.

Hmm, mine looks a bit different and was without insignia. There is evidence of a large trapezoid having been there but no thread left to determine if it had been zig/zag stitched or not.
