Please help with these panzer skulls!

    Hello everyone,

While I realize that these are not SS (and I have a suspicion they might not even be what they are claimed to be), I do know that you gentleman (and ladies, perhaps) really know your skulls.

I posted these in the Wehrmacht insignia forum and did not receive any definitive response. Therefore, I would sincerely appreciate any opinions.

A friend new to collecting called me to come look at his latest acquistions, two "matched panzer skulls". Well, they are matched alright, but I have a bad feeling on these. I don't collect insignia such as these, but I attempted to do a search for skulls. I didn't see even one set with the distinct "round nose" nor did I see skulls marked like these are on the reverse. Even the prong attachment seems odd. When I asked my friend if he had a week to decide, he said no, the fellow only allows 24 hours !!

Now, what should that tell a person??

But I could certainly be wrong, and I would appreciate all responses and opinions. I will be glad to return the favor in the future on other type items!

Lastly, a more detailed view of the maker markings. I appreciate all help, and I thank you!

I've never seen skulls like that before,, the aging and wear looks convincing,,but I personaly would steer clear of them unless someone who knows skulls said they were good
        Heres one of mine:

Sorry but they are fakes, Heer insignia were not under the regulation of the RZM ... and even if they were M5 was the prefix for unifom accessories M1 was for insignia ... another case of the fakers overmarking things.
