SS Winter hat -Eagle real??

Hi all:
Check out this SS Wintermutze. It originally came with an Danziger Totenkopf (deemed original on this Forum) which was detached from the cap. I hesitate to take the eagle off to check out the markings on the back lest I break the prongs off.
Any thoughts on the authenticity of the eagle/cap. Value???
