Yesterday I went with another Forum member to take a look at an SS tunic. I'm the one who had the camera, so I'm posting this thread for him - easier that way.
The photos aren't too great - new camera I'm still learning how to use. While I do have some knowledge of uniforms, I don't collect SS, so my opinion of these insignia is worth exactly what the air you are now breathing is costing you. I wasn't able to take the uniform outside to get better pictures or do the prefered 'sunlight' exam - we are in Colorado, and it was overcast and raining (go figure).
I have my own opinion on the tunic (and other photos), but I will keep them to myself for now. The first box that needs checked is, obviously, the originality of the insignia themselves. Here's the shoulder board:

) Anyway, the photo doesn't show it too well, but the oakleaves in the center are made of the very bright silver metallic thread.
