    My first ss camo

I would like to show off my first ss camo. It is an early m44 pea camo, with the factory applied eagle and provision for slip on shoulder straps. I am waiting for a pair of slip on shoulder straps. Jacques

Lorenz, I saw the thread with your camos and grey tunics and I am still in shock. I will take two lifetimes to catch up with your collection. Must say I love your greys, luckily I got one of them. Jacques

Thanx, I thought about the officers look but I have an arty em on the way. The eagle is very much em and being late war I thought that would be best. Jacques

                      Jacques,

Please make sure you use UV resistant glass, on your frames. The direct light will damage the cloth. If the light bulbs are fluorescent, yoiu can get UV resist sleeves that go over the bulbs.

Wonderful display and very impressive collection.

                        ss camo

The SS M44 camo jacket is my favorite for SS tunics, and here's why.

In an age where the untouched SS tunic is pretty much "untouchable" for the average guy, he can always fall back on the SS dot pattern camo jacket.

It's just as complete without an eagle, as with an eagle. As for shoulder straps, lots of period pics show provisions for the boards, but the dude isn't even wearing any boards.

All you gotta do is be sure the jacket iself is real and your all set!

Thanx for the replies guys, I like the pictures, hope you do too. The pro's on the forum had a good look at this one and it was given the good to go. I am just waiting for a pair of artillary em straps. It is so much more rewarding buying from fellow collectors. Bob, their is no natural light into the room and the lights are hardly ever switched on, but thanx for the advice. Jacques

I agree with chad1 regarding the ss 44 dot camo, my favourite too. i find them easier to spot the fakes unlike most other ss items such as insignia, decals etc. and jacques is a wonderful example.
