From what I can see in the photos it appears that the insignia is original; however, having said that, the cap itself --- the material and specifically the officer piping --- do not look right to me. I would pass on it if offered to me.

If my memory serves me right that cap used to be owned by Glenn McInnes, one of the moderators in the cloth headgear forum. I am sure he could tell you better than us just veiwing these pics. Here is a pic I have saved of it when he owned it I believe.

I see no problem with eather the insignias, how they are applyed, the acctual body of the cap nor the officers cord.

Looks like a nice original cap to me.
