      No problem, Lew! I thought you might be wondering about that. On mine they were intact and still holding down the tassel on the back. But the way I had it displayed on the shelf between my other SS headgear at the time, it would have looked much better with the tassel hanging down to one side next to the Bevo badges on the front (like in many period pics).
      I grappled with the idea of snipping these threads for a long time, but just couldn't bring myself to do it. Luckily you don't have that dilemma.

      Nowadays jerkoffs are actually removing the badges from these fezzes to embellish real (or fake) Heer M-43's!

        I think where these were sewn there was no pay to dock.
