thank you for posting that picture. It has the same font as eagles posted by dok and coco. How long do you have your eagle in your collection?

Your welcome, the eagle was a personal gift of a ( Austrian ) veterean and I have had this one for 38 years so I have no doubt about this one.

Changing fonds are no uncommon thing, all kinds of alterations can be found there, take for instance the Wagner eagles of which the earliest one I have ever seen has an ma prefix, then it developes to M/8 to M1/8, with a square shaped 8 to round 8, sometimers even the old typeface or prefix code is even partly visible under the new code.
Look at the picture of this 475 Alu, the old typeface as in #6 is visible / sticks out under the more rounded type that is visible. If this typeface is due to cleaning or redefining the code is a guess but still.
There are some examples of development in placing and using both typefaces and the RZM code also.
      Combinations I have seen are
      - the old typeface in combination with the RZM logo placed horizontally
      - the old typeface in combination with RZM placed going with the motion of
the rounded shape of the lower feathers.
      - the rounder typeface with RZM horizontally.
      - the rounder typeface with RZM placed going with the rounded shape
      so there are differences.

...no idea what to think now, from its front looks perfect from rear a bit worse. Anyway it is possible that there are two variation existed , earlier and later type . Such case we can find on ss belt buckles for example aluminum Overhoff 36/40 early one is marked with single circle a bit later production with double circle, alluminum Asmmann belt buckle 155/39 - one variation has stright no 9 the other has a bit rotated no 9 .

...anymore CupAl or aluminum eagels marked 475/39 ???

            Peter,

can you see which type of font is it? Plain no 7 or no 7 with small strich?

what do you think about Dok's eagle posted on warrelicforum? I am sceptic but I can be wrong.

I looked at the back once before to identify the maker. It has those fragile aluminum pins. I am a little reluctant to look again.

Looks great, thank you Peter. Another 475 one, a bit worn Alu and on a cap also ... obviously.
                Best,

                Seth.

                  Thanks for the pictures!
The font style is identical to my alluminium eagle. I hope that the questions about the authenticity of such a marking Ferdinand Wagner (475/39) will be finally lifted. The authenticity of the eagle from my collection, I never doubted, since he was found in the ground. I would also like to watch eagles in other collections, but I could not find similar. But I was hoping that they exist. Now I see that the marking is an eagle. I'm glad.
