I have to disagree there bob on the field made repairs there is no evidence whatsoever that the strap I have has been altered and other than the cloth on the underside it is a match for other straps of this type.

The cloth on the bottom (DOT) is an integral part of the straps, the button holes are the same type as normally encountered on this type of strap, do i think these were made for the camouflage tunic NO

The manufacturer has just used scrap cloth to construct the underside of the straps as they normally do but in this case it happens to be DOT camouflage scraps rather than wool nothing more.

I also remember seeing at German shows the straps mentioned above, some were made better than others, most had silk piping, as i remember them they were camouflage top and bottom, but it was janke camouflage, I cannot recall the german dealers name i used to see walking round the shows but he also used to have a bag of ss face veils as well, some well used, some used and some mint, i guess he was waiting for you to indicate how you like your items
    cheers

I posted a field made Italian camo tunic on this thread:

          http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...=244082&page=2

It clearly had SS insignia applied at some point. When I got it the tunic was stripped except for these boards. WR Jim
