    Hello guys

    What do you think about this skull .....it was find in a camp

    original or copy ?

    the things boy scouts will get up to these days ... knocking out cast repro Assmann style skulls while camping.

        Yes , was on ebay ....but I don't buy it.
        It seem to be original but I'm not sure.....

          Not even close. Nothing about this one resembles an original. It is a poor and obvious fake. Adding some dirt and a bogus story does not make it authentic.

              If you really don't know then you really wouldn't understand.

              BUT here goes ... insignia were stamped out of various base metals or metal 'sandwiches' using 2 dies. They were never (to my knowledge) cast.

              The example posted is a fake of the Assmann style skull and is covered in spatter and casting pits. Usual eBay cr@p with just another eBay fantasy story.

                I agree with Ian, Just to add something, I assume this is an attempt to make an Assmann style skull, if so the prongs (and their attachment) are totally wrong.

Accept that there are others here who have spent a lot of time studying these items over many years and know a great deal more about them than you do. These are not amateures speculating like you, they are dedicated and experienced collectors with a wealth of factual historical information. Listen and learn.
