When looking at totenkopfrings, I would advise to look at as many examples of original rings as possible and concentrate on one area to start with, such as the inscription, or the skull.
With reference to the ring you have shown, can I name this the 'Shrek ring', in reference to its likeness to the animated character of the same name.

Thanks,
I saw this ring on Sunday; I went to the sellers home yesterday to take some pictures. I did look at many rings on the forum, real and fake. When I looked at it, again I saw that it looked more like the bad ones than the good. I just wanted to have others verify what I was thinking. Saved again by my fellow members. Thank you all who helped with the ID on the Ring as fake. I knew it was too good to be true.
Dennis,
This ring appears to have inscription indicating ownership by senior Waffen SS commander Hermann Priess. I think I saw this item for sale on EBay a few years back and tried to warn prospective buyers it was not real (to no avail). I saw the real Priess honor ring as part of magnificent shadow box personality grouping Steve Wolfe had about ten years go. Display included pictures, TK cuff, collar tabs, and other uniform items. Asking price even then was on the high side but I had no doubt I was seeing the genuine article.
