No more pictures of the eagle were necessary. It is a horrible and obvious reproduction which bears no likeness to an original.

The TK, on the other hand, looks to me like it may be an original piece which was never completed. It may have been among the work in progress when the plant ceased operation, or it may have been a test piece which was saved. Regardless, my guess is that the pin was added shortly after the war (either in Germany or, possibly, even back in the States) to "complete" the GI's souvenir. Much like the Frankenstein daggers of mismatched parts, which were put together from what was left in the factory after the war in order to meet the demands of the occupying GI's for souvenir daggers, this TK may have been a "put together" TK, made from what was left of an incomplete production lot. In any case, from what I can see in the photos, I find the TK consistent with the unmarked skulls which are generally considered as original TR and attributed to Deschler.

Assuming that I am correct about this one, it would be very difficult to say what it is "worth." To some, it would be nothing more than a curiosity and worth nothing. To others, as a post-war GI souvenir made from an unfinished original TK, it represents its own interesting period of history in occupied Germany and, like the put-together parts daggers, has its own unique appeal and, perhaps, some significant value. Again, all of this is based on the assumption that my assessment of this TK is accurate.

yes yes, of course, anyway, being original or not I would never sell it. As I said, it was a present
