    Opinions Needed SS Armband

    Hello Fellow Members,
I have an SS Armband made of wool. Daggers are my area of expertise, but with cloth items, I'm a sixth grader. I can tell you that the quality is extremely good, and there are remnants of some kind of paper tag. It passed the light and burn test, but I sure could use your help. Please give me any insight you have, I would appreciate any help.
    Thanks

I'm no expert on armbands but I must say that the stitching and construction is very neatly done

I've seen reproductions that I know were, but the construction of this one is professional. Always nice to get other's opinions, and we have members that are experts in this field. I and am hoping to get some good feedback.
                      Thanks pzrwest.

Hello normaly I would say that if it past thoughs test it would be good . This one I have a ? about. It is in great shape but the RZM tag isnt . It just doesnt match. I am wandering about the rundel being alittle off center as well. This is just some thing I hav noticed .Not all Tr items were perfect. I will go out on a limb and say its good to me.

from the images the wool looks somewhat thicker that you would normally find on originals and it also look like a very course weave as well,
                          cheers

                              Gary,
I would have the same concern. I looked at this thread earlier and broke mine out to match it up against. I bought mine from Bill Shea about 11 years ago. The wool in this thread foto seems very "hairy" while mine seems to be more like felt. At first I attributed this to the high level of enlargement of the fotos. Also, the Hakenkruez tape on mine seems to have finer ribs in the material. My example does not have the cloth tag on the rear but it does have a paper one. It is located in the center behind the rondell not at the edge near the seam. Speaking of the seam, the black tape borders on mine go all the way to the end, even beyond where the seam is. The one in this thread looks to stop at the seam. Also mine still has plenty of black thread hanging off thaty once secured it to either a Bluse or a Mantel. I'm thinking mantle because of it's size.

I only have one of these so I do not know if there were several different variations. I have seen very good repros and I remember noting the red wool was thick.

                              Sepp
