Anyone ever seen a Langemark cuff title that's this crude?

Gents, this looks like the RZM-style embroidery was done by a blind person with a third-hand sewing machine. Were these cuff titles ever done this crudely? s/f Robert

        Cuff title

        Hello RobertE,
This cuff title is an out and out poorly made reproduction. A similar effort (Charlemagne) can be found in Ulric of Englands's work on cuff titles in the first few pages of the book. The flags on this particular piece are:
        (1) Lack of serrifs
        (2) Crude and uneven lettering

Angolia shows a variant on page 374 of his work on SS insignia. See the image below.

        Sincerely,

        Charles Betz

Charles is probably correct, but I do recall some period photos posted either here or on GDF which showed some very crude cuff-titles, including some with the spelling 'Langenmarck', being worn by members of the unit.

Close up of the cuff title referred to by Luc, rotated.

                Sincerely,

So absent the features one would expect - quality and consistent lettering with the letter details properly executed - are there original versions of this band (non-German produced) out there that are considered original?

The photo looks to show a variant band, but the letter alignment and detail is hard to make out. Great picture, though! s/f Robert
