Im slowly putting together my display, still cant afford a good piece of headgear, but here is my impression of an SS combat adjutant so far.Hope you like it. The tunic wasnt set up for the cords, doesnt have a button, but what the heck, I thought it would add ambiance to my display.Besides I only know of one original surviving SS adjutant tunic, they haveto be mega rare.I also have the matching breeches and boots.

The VT units wore the same Aiguilette as the Allg.SS/TV units (the M38 mod.). For the field grey tunic was then the WH Aiguilette worn. Prior 38 (34-38) was a black with white silk thread Aiguilette worn (see pic. below). Both types the M34 & the M38 SS mod. are heavily faked and offered these days. The real details tell the differences, from the M34 mod. how it is woven, from the M38 mod. how the metal pips are done. John, is a well known SS tunic collector and knows to put on the right Aguilette. Not to forget there was also a dress Aguilette.Attached Files

Robert thank you for explaining that. The Waffen SS wore the plain silver aigulette and these were worn into combat, in fact a photo in the book "Wenn Alle Bruder Schweigen" depicts an SS adjutant killed during the invasion of the lowlands,he has his aigulettes on.
Kevins tunic is an adjutants tunic and has the small button on the shoulder to button the aigulette on.
BOB, WHY DID YOU SHOW ME THAT CAP !!??? its too perfect for this tunic! that would complete this uniform wonderfully..very nice !
