    Posting Help Eagle/ Skull

I have an eagle and skull (I think are fine) but would like to show for review. Is there someone I could EMail the pictures to. I cannot post pix.

    Cheers, John

Looks like a nice zinc Deschler M1/52 skull, I'm not so sure on the eagles. Could it be a matching M1/52 ?

            Cheers,Ian.

                No worries John.

                Can we see the cap?

The insignia is on what I believe to be (originally) a Fire Police visor. That said, the SS insignia has been on it forever and it shows strong evidence of service type wear just as it is. I can find no trace of any other insignia.

The cap was surplussed by a museum and ...best of all ...the amount I paid was for a Fire Police Cap.

                  Strangely, I really like it.

                  I'll send you a photo.

                  Cheers, John

The "prongs" appear to be coming out of the side of the body of the ss skull in the bottom picture...anybody else notice that?

While I know that is okay for panzer skulls and army cap eagles I think it is a no-no on SS skulls.

Not sayin this is the case here...but on a lot of the early fakes they mated real zinc eagles with the fake skulls that had the prongs as part of the skull body.

                          Best,

                          Johnny

...as an added comment on a lot of the early fakes 70s'/80's (not commenting on your cap here) you will find real insignia, both cloth and metal...they were around in relative availability then...so keep your eyes open. but shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

You are actually looking at a moth hole, not a prong.

Prongs appear to be the standard type

                              Cheers
