    SS M44 Tunic Markings Correct?

    Hello folks,
    Isn't something missing from this interior marking set on a M44 tunic? What's with the huge five? Any help would be appreciated - s/f Robert

    And has anybody ever seen the collar strap serged like this on original or replica M44s? My other M44s have simple sewn edges - opinions, friends? s/f Robert

      Anybody want to take a stab at this? Does anyone know why there would only be two size numbers on a M44 jacket, plus a huge 5? Are these complelely bogus?

            Yes Johan, it has some questions that must be answered. However, I have heard of these large numbers being used as a late war sizing number. In the end, the length of the sleeves and back wasn't that important, and the Germans went for a general sizing method. I've seen it in an original M43 hat. Is anyone else familiar with a large numbering system?

            I think I need to get this baby in my hands to make the call, and I'll share it with my collective cyber colleagues on the forum. Thanks for the input.
