    Rare EM Boards

I got these from someone we all know and trust so I am not asking opinions, just sharing a few pairs of unusual boards. These appear late war as you'll see that the feldgrau backings look like they're made from pieces of worn out uniforms and are different shades. Also it is interesting to see three pairs of boards with three different types of piping especially since they appear to have been made at the same time and place. Again the SS/BW stamps are unique to any I have seen. Notice the KZ piped one is the proper LIGHT brown and not the recon. brown everybody claims is KZ. Enjoy.

[QUOTE=Bobwirtz]I've never seen markings like this on enlisted slip on shoulder straps. Does anybody have experience or documentation for this?

No Bob, I for one have not.

And as opinions are not being solicited, I will comply.

                  Thanks, Gary/Sh. Bd. "Stiffners"

Gary, thanks for the link. Informative as speculation. I got them from a contributor to J.A.s "Cloth Insignia of the SS" and am not worried about them even though everything in the book is not original. I've seen a good number of straps with fraying so that's not too meaningful as to the originality to me. I enjoyed reading the comments though. It brought a question to mind though. I have seen a period pic of Kurt Meyer with his arm raised and his officer's board is bent like it has no metal stiffner. Does anyone know if there were Sturmfuhrer/ Hauptsturmfuhrer boards without the metal stiffners?
                  Thanks, ned

                    Ned,
as long as you are happy with them that is all that matters.
                    cheers

Until of course, you try to sell them to someone who knows better.

                          Ned,
                          well then!,

If you want fact's, they are fakes readily available at Germany shows in the 80's, the piping, button hole and construction is incorrect, you posted them here and while you did not want opinions you went on to say how rare they were and,

"Again the SS/BW stamps are unique to any I have seen."

well you might not have seen any more but i have and plenty of them.

From your posting you are trying to put across that these straps are 100 authentic, they are not.

But since you think they are perhaps you can enlighten us as to why you think these straps are OK, with Fact's not who you bought them from

                          cheers
