Hello All.
Need some help on a few items I have recently come across, none of them are really my sort of thing so my knowledge is limited. First I apologise for quality of pictures hope they will show enough, my camara is not that great. Firstly the jacket I beleive M44 Pea Patton? The jacket is in ok condition with only wear to the cuff ends, this looks pretty natural to me. All the buttons are marked with the following on the inside, 19 JFS 42. Inside the jacket near the left shoulder on the lining it is stamped SS (these are in runic form ), BW and randomly scattererd 43, 42, 90, 68, 68. I take it these must be maker numbers, size etc. The jacket was found in the next village to me on the edge of the Danube. Up to two weeks ago it has been regularly worn by an old guy who lived there. Unfortunately it has been washed and smells nicely of fabric conditioner. In my limited knowledge on these sort of tunics it does appear to be naturally aged and it has the feeling of being original. Hopefully you guys out there will offer your opinions.
The other two items came with it. One is a very large canvas bag around 1 metre in length and 50cms width. Its laced up, nice condition. The only markings are LUX stamped on the steel; part of the strap ends. What is it and what was it used for?
Lastly a small canvas bag, green in colour, no marking at all.
The smaller bag and the jacket came inside the big sack and the wife of the old guy said all items came from WW2.
Well thats the lot and thank you all so much in advance for any help.
Best Regards Holden. Sorry again for quality of pictures!
