John I wonder why you are cautious about unworn M44 tunics? I see more unissued M44 tunics than any other styles and this makes sense to me, as many of these uniforms never left the factory due to transport difficulties in late 1944/1945. I have seen some fake M44 tunics but believe they share certain characteristics, do you believe that more of these mint M44 tunics are fake than is generally known to the collecting community?

Hello Chris, No not the tunics themselves or even the insignias in many cases. What I do think is that many of these are married long after the War. Blank mint tunics with real SS insignias sewn onto them. We have seen a few Heer M44s found in mint condition and most of the time with late war insignias. But in the cas of SS we see late war tunics often with earlier quality insignias.
