    Hi,
Yes, IMO the clips , the construction and the pattern of camouflage are correct, my only doubt is:
Why the cloth of the cover is damaged for the use, expecially the autumn side where it was at contact with the steel of the helmet, where are the springs , near the clips etc, while the clips dont have any sign of use where normally the clips have more contact when you use the helmet?
And also where normally was fixed the edge of the helmet, the clips are MINT!! impossible in a cover used like this!
We know that the aluminium is a metal very ductile it impossible that there it isnt any sign!
Expecially with this type of damage that seams worn for the use in some points.
I'm sorry but IMO the cover it isnt pre May45.

    All the best.
    Lorenz

      Bernhard,
can you please post a close up of the clip in post#10 taken from the autumn side? And a close up of the exposed part of the spring one can see in the same picture?

Lorenz is of course right when he says that the wear of the fabric doesn't seem to match the clips....Still I don't give this cover up that soon. Some covers were almost exclusivly worn with the spring side out. So it might be that the clips show some more wear on the autumn side. Also the quality of the anodization was very high, so the original clips were comonly very resistant even when exposed to heavier wear. But also, as Lorenz already said, the spring is giving me some worries too, though one can't see that much of it from the pictures....

      Cheers

      Fritz

        Lorenz and Fritz,

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on my cover.
I really appreciate that both of you share your experience and have
more to say than a simple "thumbs up" or "thumbs down".

I will, of course, take some closeups of the clips.

Thank you both Fritz and Lorenz

          New Pics

          Hi fellows,
While handling the cover to take some additional pics I noticed that
most of the wear of the fabric has occured on the ceases when the cover
is off the helmet.I also noticed that the fabric feels a little "brittle" when I handle the cover.
I also looked at the hooks and as mentioned my Lorenz there is very little
          wear to them.
What do you think about this :maybe this cover had not had much wear from actually being worn on a helmet but has once been washed and/or being stored improperly.
          Just some thoughts !

          Now some pics !

Here you can see what I meant before , the fabric has worn through where it makes a bend when not on the helmet.

                  Hi Bernhard,
Thank you for post new pictures, this can help, IMO the damages near the spring are did to sham the wear of the cover, also the colors of cloth the cover is like very used, while the clips are still near mint.
I post some pictures where you can see the damages near the spring on original covers with little use, damage for the rust on the spring, this for the age and the years.
This are the only damages that you can found near the spring on covers with little use, is possible found damages like your cover on covers very used, but also in the clips should see the same use..
I hope this pictures can help this thread.

                                Bernhard,
honoustly the springs give me some worries.... Could you please post a close up picture of one of the clips taken from the autumn side?

As for fabric damage...I have seen a cover that was in the hands of children ....believe it or not, kids can do as much damage to a cover as a enemy soldier....So, a authentic cover can have "none authentic" damage...

But as I said the springs look incorrect from these pics....so at the moment I'd agree with Lorenz....

                                Cheers

                                Fritz
