    SS Black Panzer wrapper

    Hello everyone,

I would like to get some critical comments by the panzer guys on this wrapper... The insignia are removed, but the runic tab was in the inside upper pocket...

    Thanks,
    Gerd

Do you see any immediate red flags? Or is this piece worth a 'closer look'...?

The button appears to be an original SS button. As for the collar tab it doesnt look like it was sewn on. Can you show details of the interior, materials used behind the liner etc. Looks really interesting. There were a couple of these, enlisted types, floating around a couple years ago doctored up by a gent in Ohio and sold to collectors out there as officer tunics piping added etc.

        Thanks John,

I agree on the runic tab. It doesn't look sewn on and that's why I though it's 'strange' to see a mint tab in a suposedly used jacket...
But I'll ask to make the pictures like you advised me to.

        Thanks,
        Gerd

Is the runic tab being sold as part of the wrapper or has it been added for the sale?

Well, the seller sells the tab separately... He says the tab might be put in the pocket of the jacket by his uncle who brought the wrapper home after the war... The question is: when was the piping applied... ?

            regards,
            Gerd

From the very few details you have shown of the jackets interior.

              I would entertain a doubt.

Gerd, if you want to buy a real officers one with insignia, just missing its cufftitle I have one to go.

Now that it is evidently sold, can someone tell us all where it was listed?

                            Gerd,

I am sorry to hear that someone bought the tunic out from under you. That is the risk of posting things on the forums. There are those whose lust is greater than their scruples.

Very sad that a member just takes it away "in front of your nose". :-(
