Did they make cotton armbands in 1935? I thought everything was wool until times got hard.

Woolen pieces for the black tunic or whatever tunic-like garment; cotton for the short Bobi-haken brown shirt. Cf. the price lists of 1934, 1936 and 1938ff. This being said, I have seen woolen armbands on SA brown shirts for officers, so I do not want to be dogmatic about this point. But I also have never seen a cotton armband on a woolen black tunic that I considered to be legit, either....

I've seen the SS armbands going for about $425 US +/- $50

Cotton armbands are in less demand than the wool ones. I would value it at $300-$350. May I second Donald's observation of wool armbands on officer's brownshirts and cotton armbands on wool tunics. I have found this more so in the uniforms of the SA & the NSKK.

My observations are consistant with Donald's. Wool on tunics, and cotton on brownshirts. Although as mentioned, I've seen wool on brownshirts. The only cotton kamphbinden that I've seen on tunics, (wrappers), would have been HJ.
