Help With Some SS Cloth and Stuff.

Hi all,

A close friend came into a couple of bags of cloth and metal insignia a couple of weeks ago and we have been spending our free time sorting the good from the bad and trying to ID the lot. As I steer clear from the SS "minefield" I was not qualified to give these bits the yes or no. If you could help us it would be greatly appreciated.

A pin that reeked of pure fantasy to me but he asked me to post anyways just to be sure.

It just looks to new to me and the markings aren't what I'd expect to see quality wise.

Last one I promise!! I had heard somewhere that the 3 prong skulls were bogus but tried to find an old thread to no avail. I thought I'd post it just to be sure before junking it.

The three collar tabs look good to me, cannot say anything about the pins, don't like the skull... my two cents!

First two tabs look okay, not sure about the third, the pin you said was fantasy is that, the FM pin appears to have the wrong reverse...IE the correct ones I have seen are marked with the maker name, numbered and ges. gesch, I am not positive but I think the ones with just the number are bogus, although a lot of the ones I have seen are old looking, as for the skull I always thought the kinds with the prongs as part of the side of the skull were no good (you see other insignia like this such as army hat eagles that are okay though) but I am not positive that yours is fake as it has interesting markings, I would like to hear what Chris has to say...I know on some of the fake SS visor caps they did up years back they would have a real Assmann eagle and your type of skull, but I am not sure if those skulls has markings, John
