Hi,
on the "can you count the pixels game", here is my main concern, the tip of the flap of the left pocket.
Clearly not sharp on the period picture, and clearly sharp on the recently found tunic.
And yes, the right flap tip is "rounded" on the unknown tunic, (the tip is bended, which is not the case of the tip on the left pocket).

Sadly my reply and explaination was also lost. I hope forum administration will secure that in the future!? Surely there must be back up routines before any updates? Otherwise time to solve that part.

This is how we all learn. The game changer was the matching collar tabs comparison with that period picture. One cant deny that fact. They do match quite closely.
However my judgement was based on the pictures and sound reasoning before that. A lot of signs showed up that was not wanted for a true item. I stand by that a 100% and I am surprised by the outcome but I also adjust to what has been presented. New facts has been presented. Very nice to see! High end items must pass this high level of scrutiny. Thats what this forum is about right? A few speed bumps towards the conclusion - a needed process - or we will end up with accepted fakes in the blink of an eye. A lot of bad signs IMHO and still a few gaps to fill in. Some details differs like pointed collar tabs vs more straight cut (has been debated in the past), the sew ins of the shoulder boards and how they protrude. Could be the angles and quality of the pictues. Could be a different tunic with reused insignias? Who knows...
Some might claim I lack the knowledge to have the right to comment and they might be correct. Feel free to do so. However I feel there must be a deep level of scrutiny. The policy of silence and the posibility of hostile aggressive comments will not stop me from leaving comments. That speaks more of the guys leaving that kind of comments.

Maybe it is lighting and loss of detail due to magnification. Compare that tip on the other pocket and its shade. Is it pointy or round?Comment

But the left pocket flap tip starting rounded/bended (on the period picture) and becoming sharp in the current unknown tunic is less understandable.

Another example how detail magnification on period image distorts details. How much black can you see in those circled areas surrounded by light areas compared to modern photo. You just can't keep magnifying period image and expect clear effect and detail consistency like in modern picture. What was the size of the original image? 2 by 3 inches maybeComment

Thats not easy to tell... Difference between period pics and todays.... Period pic is bleached out and the TS is more clear. However the pointy collar versus the the more straght cut is quite interesting...Comment

I don’t think that Wolff was in the SD based on my understanding of his service bio. I’m also not positive that the Leather coat is specifically SD although I guess it may be. My understanding is there were other members of the SS main office they wore blank tabs other than strictly SD.
