    This a heavy set marked Ss 360/42 900 Nice looking set bought years and years ago. What do you think real or fake?

            Hello Terry,



            Actually this is a second generation copy of the reproduction 360/42 set that was post-war made of aluminum, with flat, brass pins. The first generation, aluminum copies were probably the best looking reproductions, along with the 380/40 marked reproductions.

            The dies have been reused and recut several times with copies made of aluminum, iron, and zinc. The set you posted were cast from a mold made from an earlier copy.
