Wiking Division Ring - not the normal breed

    Hi folks,
I got this in Tallinn, Estonia before the wall came down. Has a very worn German-helmeted soldier on an enameled Estonian colors crest. Has unreadable (to me) initials or name on the inside. The man's father was in Wiking Division. Has anyone seen this type before? s/f Robert

        Hi,
The Estonian Army used similar helmets. It may be pre 1940 ring.
        Looks fine to me.

Thanks for the comment. I got it in Tallinn, Estonia, in 1990 from the veteran who wore it in WWII. Wish I could have got the rest of his stuff!

He wore it in WW II but WHEN it was made? Estonians wore a lot of pre WW Estonian items to identify themselves as Estonian soldiers , NOT as German soldiers.

Good point. I suppose it could have been pre-war; he was 19 when he joined. Thanks for the input - s/f Robert
