I thought I would drag this thread back to life, kicking and screaming. I'm sure more than a few folks will be none too happy about wading through all those tasteless photos of SS uniforms and half-naked women, but no matter...

Lorenz, do you have any pointers concerning the restoration of uniforms? Restored tunics may cause the ultra-purists to go into raging fits but I know there are many pieces none of us will ever own 100% original examples of due to little things like the unit being annilated. I'm not asking for anything that the Forces of Darkness can use to flood the market with even better forgeries... but if I'm going to be putting original insignia on original uniforms, I just want to be able to sleep at night knowing I didn't butcher the job.

      Hello Matthew,
What I can tell you is that if you want restore an original tunic, should be with original insigna, respecting the old traces on the tunic, the year of construction of tunic/insigna respecting the history ensemble and with original way and thread if possible.
...and if you will sell a restored tunic, the price should be the price of the stripped tunic+ the price of each insigna without any addition on the price for "original complete SS Tunic"...
The real Untouched complete SS tunics are like a white fly, very very rare.

Awesome! Or should I say I just stare. Jaw agape, in awe. Thanks for the show Lorenz. I have had the pleasure to visit the collection that started this thread and handled some of the goods. It indeed has been added to since this started. That was just the SS room and I know this is the SS forum but, wait 'till ya's sees the Kriegsmarine room and all the 'loose' goodies hangin' around.

This is a side of my camo collection, I have also other very nice camo pieces like smocks, helmet covers, camouflage caps and a very good collection of SS Uniforms in wool in all models.
I calculated that I can wear about 75/80 Waffen SS mannequins....
When I will have the possibility I will post other pics of my collection, to enjoy together..
I always looking for camo stuffs like smocks, covers, caps etc expecially in the early plan tree patterns, oakleaf HBT 43/44 and ...last camo winter piece that I looking for to complete my winter collection, the winter trousers in Blurred edge..
I always at disposition to buy/sell and trade nice SS camo stuffs!

I was flipping through looking at the camouflage patterns and noticed posting #61. The Feldbluse without the cufftitle looks like an M-34 by the color of the collar. What is the story on that Feldbluse?

                          BTW, everything looks real good!

                            hello Bruce,
This tunic is very interesting, it is the first and only one credible (IMO) M36 model (green neck and pockets M36/40) with two holes for the belt suspender.
Is clearly producted around 42/43 for the wool and type and sistem of lining used in construction. But maybe to be more atractive rensemble a M36 tunic, how often the NCO made on theyr M42/43 tunics.
It appear to be producted factory and not tailored, it have inside the size sistem 50 or 52, I dont remember well, how was for the early NSDAP and VT tunics and not the heer sistem size used more later on the M42/43 SS tunics.
I think that it is factory made, becouse I never saw a tailored tunic sized in this way, with this type of lining/sistem that is the same of the m42/43 tunics and with the two holes for the belt suspender and sure it'isnt a m42/43 SS tunic altered more later.
It have also the neck in felt and not in wool, how for the m36 tunics heer model, for this reason the felt lost some of the green color and now it is less strong, now the color is how was in the M34 reichswehr model.
It was found with his original neck NCO tresse and clearly traces of Ss insigna.
this is sure an interesting variant of SS tunic IMo and I keep it in collection like exotic item

Those of you who think the first collection shown is an outstanding one...I agree. Lorenz's is also outstanding. The owner of the first collection also happened to view this HBT stug wrap in person and wanted to purchase it for his collection.

How many of you who say the HBT wrap is a fake would tell that collector he doesn't know what he is doing?

Not me, that's for sure; but glad to know he didn't "taint" his collection with that particular HBT item.
