Civilianised Zeiss 10x80 20 degree funny modification

Very recently, this Zeiss 10x80 20 degree was sold.
A nice civilianised one.

It appears the upper third of the original marking plate has been retained.
Only the lower part with the eagle has been replaced with what looks like an original Zeiss marking plate

I didn´t buy it. It became somewhat expensive, at least with regard to what it no longer is.

Yes, 1220 € was definitly to much for that poor maltreated piece.

I get the total to be close to € 1500.- ?? (13kx1.225x0,094)
But, either way, too much.
As for maltreated, I could believe it was a Zeiss rework. So, in a way, legit.
Price would still be too high.

The stand it sits on - seems to be of approx the same age? Interesting design too.

I find them intriguing. Strange design on the tubes.

Could this be some kind of Demo ex from Zeiss ?
