A Kriegsmarine Infrared Scope ?

Hello,

On Ebay Germany, there is a Kriegsmarine ?? infrared scope for sale.

Compared to other infrared devices I saw , this one is quite odd. Box seems french, acceptance stamps odd, power supply box post war.

Clearly it is not what it is purported to be. But then what is it?

My guess would be a postwar IR unit like the one used for IR signalling on major german ships during WWII. I dont recall the name. Seehund ?

Maybe a postwar french adaption/rebuild ?

I have a Seehund and this one is nothing like it. It does not look like German WW2 infrared equipment to me. I hazard a guess that it is postwar French.... Ludicrous idea that the Festung Lorient would somehow receive the latest equipment in March '45, how????
