    rln (Zeiss) 8x30 deinstglas - date of serial no help

    Do not have the Seeger book, can someone advise manufacture date on this set please?

            In Seeger, it is originally intended to be made in 1942. Then, in the list, a new date: Sept 24, 1946 has been added.

                these are not the latest made. these still have the black no slip coating
                on the body. The last variants were smooth with sliver/blue paint
                like the rln 6x30's

                I would guess these were made right at the code change from
                blc to rln. late 44 very early 45.

                  I have never observed a set of rln 8 x 30 binos finished in grey (silver/blue) paint. I have many recorded in rough black lacquer though. It would be great if you (or any other member) could post a set with this paint combination.

                    A friend of mine is visiting me next week with the Seeger book mentioning these where made Sept 1946, I think this will be an error.

                    i will translate the notation to English.

                    Mine as you can see have the typical blc decoroc textured finish.
