I'm not sure what it is or what the markings were that were removed from the elevation drum base. I have not seen a scope with this type of focus adjustment...meaning a spiral cut in the tube. The serial number is about 35,000 numbers too low for a SS Ajack....which I think would put this scope in the early 1920s or so.....but at least a decade if not 2 decades before SS were acquiring these.

The mounts look more like sporting rifle or drilling mounts to me. Maybe a remote chance that this one was used by the Reichsheer and then sold off and re-based....hence the weapon number engraved on the tube.

Hello thx for input, maybe I dont understand perfect, but it has S/N: AJACK 38454, is it problem?

Condition isnt good, but IMO Power Ring is missing only, but I can be wrong.

            Any otehr opinions please

Thanks, On my monitor the last "4" does not show up but I trust it is there...as the area is just very dark in the photo.

The 38 thousand range that is one is in would be correct for early SS AJACK scopes.

You will get better feedback as to the sniper connection on the Firearms forum and I saw that you have posted there.....maybe it is missing the focus ring hence the exposed slot for the focus. The double claw mounts seem unusual for this SS set up as most all if not all of these are on short side rail mounts.
It is for sure that some if not a good many WWII era German military scopes were adapted to hunting rifles after the war.

Original, but badly mistreated, IMO no collector value anymore.

Another one not in perfect condition, but so what. I would have bought it, if I saw it somewhere.
I canĀ“t get only perfect items anyway. Congratulations with your find!
