Hi,
Here are a few photos of some type of optic which I was told came from a Panzer and may have been a spare viewing glass for a driver - but I'm doubtful of the provenance.
The item is in two parts: The left item in the picture is a flat mirror on a hinges bracket approx 4 inches square. There are no maker's marks.
The larger item comprises a circular piece of glass with a mirror behind at 45 degrees allowing vision through the top glass which is square and covered with a bakelite flap, The main housing is steel with black paint but the longer base has a bakelite cover and maker's mark with a numerical sequence (these are the only marks on either piece). For comparison, the circle of glass is 3 inches in diameter.
If anyone can ID the maker that would be a start !!
Thanks
Taff
