Center focus binoculars are ones that have a ring in the hinge area that is used for adjustment. These are always commercial models. Individual eyecup focusing could be either military or commercial. Depending on the markings, your binoculars could be military or they could be commercial.

      Hi Jaime,
Yours are a civilian version with the centre adjuster, military versions have the individual eye focus and the word "dienstglas" on them.

      Cheers,
      Brett

      P.S. Nice collection you have!

I would need to see better pictures to determine if they are military. If they are center focus then they are NOT military

They are not "issue" at all! Centre focus Hendsoldt 10x50 were never issued to anyone! They are civillian binoculars that MAY have been used during WW2.
The Hendsoldt 10x50 Dialyt model have been produced since 1910 and the only non-military Dialyt 10x50 that was still being produced during the war (and only up until 1943) were the Hendsoldt Gebirgs-Dialyt. These were not a military issue as mentioned earlier, as military issue always have the word Dienstglas on them. (Kriegsmarine binoculars being the exception, they should NEVER have the word Dienstglas on them)

            Regards,
            Brett

Here you go Brett. These came out of a burning bunker in Normandy and are my favourite set, the wax has even melted internally, but still o.k optically.

                          U boat optics

Hello, I was contacted by the owner of the optics collection and he graciously allowed me to take more pics. I didnt have the luxury of both time and mount. After viewing all the prior responces and exchanging emails I have a much improved impression of what these represent. I felt the need to genuflect and bow my head with each set he handed to me.
