    Hi Steve,

Do not know about the maker, this wrapper is a late war example, so it is numbered, not maker marked. The owner has requested that I not show the markings, which I probably wouldn't have done anyway.

The eagle is authentic, as is the wrapper, and the eagle is original to the wrapper. As I said, this is an incredibly rare tunic, thanks to the owner for sharing it with us!

This is a legitimate application for breast eagles. As Mr. Singer stated, it is not a zig-zag pattern. Thought a detail would be helpful since it confused many.

Good detail, John. Any chance of a similar view of the wrapper eagle ?
        Regards,
        Steve

          Hi Steve,

He will do his best And with deep respect to him, for he is a super dedicated collector and historian, and he is going the extra mile shooting photos for me. But his detail isn't going to look like my detail

A couple of new finds at a local show.....looking for eagles keeps me from getting too bored.

The top one is sewn to a very fine quality doeskin wool backing.

The botton one is sewn to a late crude wool backing and has a more subdued than usual eagle. In person the eagle is more blue gray.

Thought this thread might be a good one for others who had interest in this type of stitching.

This thread has been quiet for a while, so I thought I would bring it back with a new find from the Allentown show today.

A subdued EM eagle in a heavy, but detailed, stitch pattern and paper backed.

This eagle has been sewn to a uniform.

Tropical tunic eagle. Found this one within minutes of arriving at the SOS on Thursday.

                                Reverse. Note the backing.
