Excuse my ignorance but I have never seen one of these before, has it been converted from a standard Luftwaffe tropical tunic, or is it an issue item?

      Regards,

      Jerry

No, you excuse my ignorance :-) There is the same question for me, if it was converted or is it genuine as it is. This piece should come from a woodwork, but to me it looks like some strange variant or what...

The back seam is not constructed correctly for it to be a converted tropical tunic. Other details present in Luft. tropical tunics are also lacking on this one.

Perhaps this is a POW tunic?

Luftwaffe M44 tunics are blue-grey wool. If you do a search you can find photos of them.

Maybee a former greek / british trop. tunic. Many were reworked for german paras after the battle of crete.
