        Late variant ME109, G-10 or K model.

The 262's tail is lot more angled.

Ben's right (plus the Werknummer range is off for a 262).

            You identified a ME 109
Could the Werknummer tell us more ?

            when plane was manufactured ?
            where it fought ?
            etc ...

These guys could probably help you with the Werknummer if you ask very nicely!

A part like that, in such "time capsule" condition, from a 109 would bring several 1000 USD; there would plenty be of interest if it was offered. What would make it even more interesting (and valuable) is if specifics regarding its history are revealed by the W.Nr. That is one fine relic!
