I don't know what a Leitungsverbinder is in English; AltaVista says it means "line link" whatever that is. But the box does say it is for aircraft (Flugzeuge) so it's definitely Luftwaffe related. Wish I knew more.

Can you make out the Fl. #? It's the next line down. Looks like Fl. XXX10, XXX18, XXX19?
Maybe with it in hand you could make out some of the other numbers. Here's an example.

          Regards,
          Mike

It sure looks like a Revi Gunsight box to me, hence the Revi word on the box. I could be wrong, but it looks to me to be the case.

The pic is to show an example of how a Fl. # would look.

it dosent realy get any better in hand.so all we have is FIXX010.so is that how it works, the five digits would have been for the contents.and if we had all five then "bingo"......in your opinion do you think the box is ww2 luftwaffe related. thanks simon

Definitely WW2, and most likely contained either test equipment (that "line link" reference might be something used to test flight controls) or an on-board component.

Should someone ever be able to determine the Fl number, then this list may be of use in identifying what was in it:

Funny that you mention ebay, I have been buying stuff on ebay for 6 years and I have NEVER seen one of these for sale, other than this one. Francois, perhaps you are confusing the bakelite butter containers for this example!
I went to my data bank and found pics I saved when I first saw them - it was a set sold on ebay in 2005 (since, I have seen several but only on ebay).

Ok on the item above we have a few opinions but the jury is still out until someone can provide more facts eitherway. Now if one of you experten happen to have a picture of one just like we are now seeing for the short cord flight helms then we have some more to go on...

i agree...the open shut catch is very good. plus a padlock,it must have been worth a few rms. .then again this box is typical of german QC.

                            John,
The purpose is not to tell people what is good or bad but more to give them the more info possible to help them to built their own opinion. At the end of the day, one has to be confortable with what is in his collection and not by what others think.

Now concerning the cables for the flight helmets, if one find 1 picture clearly showing a short cable one, will that validate the fact that today more than half of the summer ones (nest) available on the market are ok?

François - that is an intersting point you have raised and one I have wonder about in private - it is interesting they are always the same type with the short cords...

I appreciate the pictures Francois of the containers that we were discussing. That helps ALOT! I am going to consider the soap container a WASH!! I may even use it tonight in the tub!
