IMO it is bad, poor detailing to the eagle, wrong style fringe and weak lettering.

Would agree wholeheartedly. That is a horrible eagle, not only by the details of the stitch work itself, but also in how the eagle shape and form don't remotely match wartime examples. Standards during the war were works of art. If you see one original example, I believe you'd quickly assess this as a copy.

Some of the reference books have beautiful, blown up pictures of authentic standards.

Actually I believe this is a copy of a copy if you can believe that..Billbert Stendal sure had a big band.. musta played big band trumpet music I guess...
