    Luftwaffe Flight Goggles Need Work

I recently picked up this pair of goggles from a ww2 vet along with a flight suit, leather cap, boots etc. He apparently raided a luftwaffe depot. The goggles are mint unissued but the connector screw or screws are missing, anyone know where I can locate such a screw. Also looked in my Angolia vol 3 Luftwaffe book but couldn't find an exact pair, anyone know the correct model name/number for these. Thanks for your help in advance.

These aren't flight goggles, they are more of a general purpose goggle. You can buy them cheap almost anywhere, and usually in great condition. Might be easier just to buy a new pair altogether.

              That's true!

If they have take the way of the sky ay one point is impossible to say, but, as Juvatwad stated, they was made for general porpose, and used mostly by bikers etc...

The goggles are manufactured by Leitz.

Agreed. Technically these are "Windschutzbrille" Wind protection goggles..
so not exclusively LW used (as the period WH images prove) but these are absolutely correct for a pilot impression...(for those on a budget not wanting to spend an arm and a leg for N & G shatterproof flight goggles).
This type of goggles were also more standard in the early war years prior to the LW specific N & G style ones.

                    Nick,

Your picture shows model 306 goggles, specifically used for flight. The goggles that started this thread are different. They are the smaller general purpose goggles, not specifically iss ued for flight. The eay pieces are significantly smaller than the 306's.

Sure 306s ... impossible to confuse with general pourpose ones. They're basically identical, but noticeably bigger thatn the others...

                      Cheers!

Thanks guys, I did not realize that! They sure look identical but I guess looking at these side by side you could detect a size difference!
Comments noted! learned something today! There is a difference!
                        The bigger version = flight!
