Lovely helmet and beautiful condition. A 101 dated 1937? I didn't know they made 101S in 1937. You learn something new every day.

I bought my 101W, together with the flight suit from Jim, via Harry. So it has a good pedigree! It is funny that I saw your post Eubank, as I am going to be selling both the helmet and flight suit on the E-stand shortly. I had just been taking some photos the other day and hey presto.

Anyway, you both have great examples of 101s, that look like they were made yesterday.

Hi!

Very nice pre war / early war flight helmets!
I think before this thread the earliest 101 I saw was 1939.

But I have some doubts about the 1937 LKp S101 from Paul.
It's an excellent and mint piece but I think the 1937 stamp doesn't designate the date of manufacture.
I think it's part of the BAL stamp.

Your probably correct Lukas it looks like part of the bal stamp .Its a blurry stamp but its 1937 not the year. Funny my 100 s is clearly marked 1937 regards Paul.

According to my observations, the production date ceased to be set since 1943 IMO. At least on LKpW and (S) helmets.

Early 100s summer and winter

Here are the early flying helmets 100 s and 100w summer & winter. Hope you like them. The winter ones are very hard to find, summer do turn up from time to time, their are both getting hard to find, as the years roll on, hope you like them Regards Paul.
