    German shell identification,help please!

    Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could identify this German shell for me please?

All of the markings are clear on the pic, with the exception of the date onthe right hand side which reads 1902.

    All help greatly appreciated!

    Kind regards,
    Andy

It is a german 37 mm round for the Hotchkiss revolver gun. The crowned "M" is the navy inspection mark. It was made by DWM in march 1902. The shell is a tracer shell which uses the tracer charge in the bottom also to ignite the explosive charge of black powder. On the bottom of the shell should be a hole where a bottom can be screwed in. I have a similar one btw.
