ANZ 29 fuse

Here comes an ANZ 29 fuse. We can see the body has oxidation but the ring looks totally mint. Could you tell me is the ring is original ? I have seen a few ANZ 29 and the ring is always very shiny. Which material is used ?

They might have some chrome, just as paper clips. They would have been produced pre or early war, as chrome was very scarce during the war.

the ring is original to the fuze, i have several of them in same condition.....

Yes, the ring is made of chromed brass. I found several AN29 during excavations but I never had the chance to get one with the ring because it was certainly made of steel later.
