Italian Ammo Box

Hello,

Here is a Box of WW2, 1939 Italian 7.35mm Ammo. I bought this for $10 just prior to christmas.

Can anyone tell me what rifle this was for and what the markings on the front of it mean. I am guessing its for a Caracano but I do not know Italian weapons all that well.

The ammo was mfg. by the Official Royal arsenal in Bologna, Italy, for the Model 38 Carbine.. The clips were mfg. by SMI Societia Metallurgica Italiana.. BILL

The majority of Carcano clips were made of brass, however the steel ones were common. I use both in my Carcano, and the steel ones seem to feed smoother.
